Word In Deed Ministries - Medical Mission in Uganda

Word In Deed Ministries is extremely excited to be partnering again with the Palm Beach Atlantic University, Gregory School of Pharmacy, for the fifth year doing Medical Missions in Uganda. This upcoming May 2017’s team has ‘signed up’ and trip planning has commenced. The dedicated professors and students have affirmed year-after-year that the mission work we are engaging in these small villages (in the Mukono District of Uganda) are having a life-changing impact on the children and people we serve. Lives are being saved (literally), transformation is taking place (spiritually), and the community of believers of the Gospel is growing (faithfully).

I hope you can take the time to watch the brief video prepared after our trip in May 2016. It gives just a small flavor of the blessings and privilege it is to do missions in Uganda. We travel to very remote villages surrounding Lake Victoria, places where clean water and basic human necessities are very limited resources. We offer free medical services at mobile clinics over a period of 5-days. Last year we saw over 900 patients and shared the Gospel through prayer and testimonies, while providing much needed medical attention. We intentionally incorporate evangelism through Vacation Bible School-type of outreach to the children, and provide health talks and education to teach about Malaria and HIV prevention.

Understandably, the free medical services we offer come at a great cost. We pray for donated funds for hiring local Ugandan doctors, purchasing medical supplies and prescription medicine, along with transportation, food and housing cost for a team of this size. We hope you will consider participating with us on this God-sized adventure with your financial support. Your partnership with us is sincerely appreciated.

God bless, Lisa Sorensen

Word In Deed Ministries

Word In Deed Ministries exists to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom by supporting and strengthening the local church in developing countries. We encourage them to minister in word and deed to their communities in works of economic and community development, healthcare, education, evangelism and discipleship. We do this by helping the church identify worthy projects, and then seeking funding from our Brothers and Sisters in the West for these projects.   Then we assist the local church in overseeing the efficient completion of the project and we assess the impact on the local church and its community for the glory of God.
